Sum by David Eagleman

“Since we live in the heads of those who remember us, we lose control of our lives and become who they want us to be.”

8109006A short and very sweet book based on fictional ideas of the afterlife. I loved this because I’m fascinated by the afterlife. I’m not religious but I still believe there is something after we leave this life, so this was a real treat for my imagination.

One of the things that I loved most about this is that almost every single person who reads it will have a different favourite version of the afterlife because we all value different things. It is a beautiful book of wistful storytelling. Every version of the afterlife is unique. Plus, I listened to it on Audible and it’s read by a very star-studded cast!

There’s something about David Eagleman’s mind which makes all these tales brighten in your own. This book is definitely a model of imaginative thought. I don’t think there are many people who wouldn’t take something from these pages – definitely worth a read.
